What to Expect

The Black Bear Bed and Breakfast, LLC is a welcoming sight after traveling throughout the state as a visitor. It is quiet and serene, tucked into a birch forest by a tranquil creek.

This private cabin has its own driveway and access but it is not too isolated. It is located only three miles from downtown historical Hope. And if you take advantage of our weekly rates (4 or more consecutive days), Hope is centrally located between Anchorage, Girdwood, Whittier, Portage, Seward and Soldotna.

The cabin's interior is tastefully decorated with hardwood floors, french doors, a kitchen which is fully supplied, bathroom with a shower, queen bed, and a living area. There is a screened in back porch to keep the famous mosquitoes at bay and an open large front porch with a gas grill for your freshly caught salmon to bake.

Breakfast cereals, bagels with cream cheese, juice, coffee and teas are
supplied in the cabin to eat at your leisure.

Come join me for a down-to-earth Alaskan
welcoming. I was born in the Territory of Alaska and can entertain
you with a myriad of Alaskan stories and history.

In March, 2016, I published my own memoir about becoming the first woman in the dual profession of police and fire in the 1970's in Anchorage, Alaska. It can be purchased on amazon or get a personalized copy sold at my bed and breakfast.
